Honestly, there wasn't all that much that I had learned from this assignment. I have created websites using drag-and-drop systems like this in the past for various different reasons, so utilizing a different system didn't really teach me much other than this particular system's quirks. Also, I have a basic fluency in HTML, so if I wanted to build my own website, I could just code it, which would give me a much greater deal of control over the site itself. Additionally, most school systems seem to have their own system that teachers/classes have 'sites' on, my school system used Blackboard. I say this because that practically means that I won't actually have much of a reason to design my own website as a teacher, it would be redundant in nature. Here's the link.
Well, to be honest, there isn't really much I can say about Diigo because all of the portfolio items that I skipped were the ones that involved Diigo. As such, I don't really have an opinion on the platform as of current, because I haven't actually used it for anything. I'll probably come back and update this (or make a new post) if/when another Diigo focused project or portfolio item occurs.
As you mentioned in the prompt itself, I think technological development is pinnacle for classrooms to advance forward. I think it's fairly simple to keep up with technological advances; I interact with technology heavily on a daily basis, so I hear about advancements fairly regularly. That being said, this website is a great place to look for tech stuff, as it's an education website that covers a lot of "new" things. Regardless, even if I don't keep up with stuff over websites, I'm sure sarcastic students will force me to update my tech habits anyway.
